HOME SWEET HOME

Well... I finally got some stuff for my little home so it no longer looks like a bland old apartment. I decided that I would try and put as much traditional Vietnamese things in it as possible. I went to Dong Khoi and bought lots of lovely lacquered wood and marble things.

Every room in this apartment is a different colour and there are some seriously UGLY blinds and curtains. They have to go. In the meantime I tried to work with the walls which I can't do anything about.
The apartment itself is gorgeous. Great fittings. Nice dark furniture and good layout. I haven't finished everything yet but I'll show you were I am at with it all room by room.

This is the living room. I love the Hanoinian water puppets I got and I'm pleased that the colours all work with my Buddhist banners I brought with me. The walls are a pale yellow in this room.
This is the study... which is still empty as you can see.
This is the bedroom. I haven't got lamps or anything yet but I got some beautiful sheets that work with the awful "mauve" paint. They are actually a beautiful dusky purple you can't really see it here.
This is the 'friendly bathroom' which is the main bathroom - not the en suite. You can't see it but it has a massive shower in it.
And this is the en suite which I refer to as the 'scary bathroom'. Two reasons. One is the 'extreme' toilet - yes that's what the sign actually says. And the other is the extreme shower which is so strong it almost leaves scars and it sprays frickin everywhere. I only use this bathroom for the bath and sink and avoid it otherwise.
This is the kitchen... now with plates and cutlery and pots (but not much else)
And this is the weird outside... but kind of internal... balcony style laundry. Such a good idea but very hard to explain.
Last but not least... this is the view from the balcony. The "Grandview".
